Fortnitemares 2025 could be best yet as Epic confirms dates, downtime and new skins

The Terrifier, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, Doja Cat and the Scooby Doo crew are just some of the new skins coming to Fortnite this Halloween.

The 2025 Fortnitemares event is about to begin, as Fortnite enters the spooky season in style.

Fortnite's upcoming Halloween event has an October 9 release date and will run all the way until end of play on October 31.

Unfortunately, however, it's not all good news, because the Fortnitemares event will be preceded by a period of server downtime, which according to developer Epic Games, kicks off at 9am BST UK time.

PS4 and Xbox warning - Hugely popular game is about to be de-listed

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a video previewing some of the new skins coming to Fortnitemares in 2025.

"Get your Fortnitemares on!" reads an Epic tweet. "Downtime for v37.50 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand."

If you want to get a game in before downtime begins in full, then you'll need to login before 8.30am BST, which is when matchmaking will be disabled.

In terms of new content, the 2025 Fortnitemares event really is shaping up to be the best yet.

There are countless crossover skins and bundles coming to the game, including an appearance by the Scooby Doo crew.

Fans of iconic horror franchises will be pleased to hear that Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series will be joining the game, alongside Ghostface from Scream.

With a sequel launching later this month, the villain from Black Phone will also appear in Fortnite, alongside Art the Clown from The Terrifier.

There's also a Fortnite Poppy Playtime collaboration, as well as a crossover with popular co-op horror game R.E.P.O.

Finally, rapper, singer and songwriter Doja Cat will be getting two Icon skins.

Needless to say, fans can also expect one or two original creations, as well as new map decorations, weapon variants, and LTM.
